«Orbit» is a contemporary dance and aerial duet. Two dancers meet between gravity and weightless fall.

There is a special place after the powerful launch and ascent of a rocket towards space where it transitions into weightless descent – orbital space. In this orbit around a celestial body, in this case Earth, gravity is weakened to such an extent that it can be disregarded, creating a state of weightlessness.

In her SENSORAMA series, Lisa Lareida explores the senses of the human body. She has already created pieces focusing on touch, sight, and hearing, which were performed in 2023 and 2024. With "Orbit," she turns her attention to another sense: proprioception. Proprioception is the sense of orientation and the fourth part of this series. Without gravity, this perception of the body in space would be impossible. Weightlessness, therefore, offers a fascinating opportunity to explore this sense in a new way.
